According to AMN, one of the Republican Guard’ brigades of the Syrian Arab army was able to take under control the area of Al-Hamra in the north-east of Aleppo city after fierce fighting with Harakat Nour al-Din al-Zenki Islamist group.
With the support of the Lebanon’s al-Quds Palestinian-Syrian paramilitary organization brigade 102 has captured a large part of Al-Hamra area, eliminating a large number of terrorists during the offensive.
Al Hamra district share borders with the Canaanite strategic area and the area Dzhabl Badra district, which are considered militants’ probable withdrawal routes from the eastern direction. At present, terrorist groups are surrounded in the east of Aleppo and do not want either to give up, or to go by the corridors provided.
Thus, a successful offensive by the government forces will probably result in the release of all Aleppo eventually.
