Washington Is Not Able to Influence Paramilitary Opposition in Syria

A famous American diplomat, a Professor of Political Science in Stanford University Michael McFaul on November 7 claimed that Washington was not able to control and influence so-called “moderate” opposition in Syria.

McFaul also admitted the problem of opposition’s separation from terrorists. “One member could be a terrorist, another one could be a representative of the “moderate” opposition. In fact, they are living together, fighting, and having common purpose,” – he said.

It should be mentioned that in February 2016, the United States promised to separate the “moderate” opposition from terrorists. However, it hasn’t been done by now.
