Syrian Foreign Ministry Demands the Withdrawal of Turkish Troops from Syria

Syrian Deputy-Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad has demanded from Ankara to withdraw its troops from the Syrian territory.

In addition, he added that because of Turkey does not coordinate their actions with the Syrian government, the official Damascus has every right to regard the bringing of the Turkish armed forces in Syria as an armed invasion of its northern territories and violation of sovereignty.

It should be mentioned that the point at issue is Turkish military anti-terrorist operation “Shield of the Euphrates” that began on August 24.  Earlier, the Turkish army, in cooperation with the Syrian opposition, took control of the Syrian town of Dzharablus and now continues its offensive in the south-west direction.
