US State Department spokesman John Kirby during a regular briefing, on December 13, said that despite the fact that Aleppo is under the control of the Syrian army, it does not mean the end of the conflict in Syria. In addition, John Kirby, said that the agreement on the organization of humanitarian corridors in eastern Aleppo was not coordinated with Washington.
It should be mentioned that he was talking about an agreement that was reached between the Syrian government and the so-called “moderate” opposition on December 13. It concerns the organization of humanitarian corridors in Aleppo through which civilians can leave the eastern parts of the city. In addition, humanitarian corridors are intended for the armed opposition fighters who are under the amnesty.
Rather, Kirby suggests that Washington will continue to support the militants of the “moderate” opposition and does not intend to put up with the successes of the government troops. It is evident that all the efforts the US State Department representative directed only to prevent or at least slow down success of the government forces.
