State Department explained why it doesn’t separate opposition against terrorists

On December 20, State Department spokesman John Kirby told reporters that, The United States had failed to complete the separation of Syrian opposition from terrorist organization al-Nusra as it was difficult to count each person. Furthermore Kirby tried to justify this failure by the fact, that Washington had repeatedly undertaken such kind of attempts.

According to Kirby, America had actively worked on this matter, but individual members of the armed Syrian opposition, either did not want to leave occupied by the al-Nusra territory, or allied them. Kirby also noted that the issue of separation from opposition fighters repeatedly discussed with all the sides of the Syrian conflict.

The United States has repeatedly been accused of their real unwillingness to destroy al-Nusra Front. According to the US it should join another armed groups opposed to the Syrian government.
