According to SR radio station, on Thursday, Swedish prosecutors said a former refugee was charged with executing government troops in Syria – a crime against international human rights.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, in 2012, the 46-year-old man joined an armed opposition group fighting the Syrian forces.
“In 2012, seven government soldiers were executed. The video of the execution shows the suspect was among the participants,” investigator Kristina Lindehoff Carleson stated.
In 2013, the man claimed asylum in Sweden. He was detained in March, 2016.
The authorities seem to be afraid of the growing terrorist activity in the country.
