China will grant additional 200 million yuan (around $29 million) humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees. It was stated by Chinese leader Xi Jinping during his speech at the UN headquarters in Geneva.
In addition, the Chinese leader expressed readiness to support the efforts of the Syrian authorities for peaceful life and restoration of damaged infrastructure in areas free of clashes.
Xi Jinping also urged the parties to the conflict in Syria to keep the ceasefire agreement while respecting the UN’s role in resolving such issues.
Earlier Xi Jinping stated that China is interested in strengthening cooperation with Syria in education sphere. Beijing annually allocates about $ 70 million in humanitarian aid to Syria.
