Yesterday, Syrian Minister of Water Resources Nabil al-Hasan stated that engineers finished the examination the water pumping station in Wadi Barada liberated by the government troops on Saturday. “We came to a conclusion that 85% of the buildings above the Ain al-Fijah source such as the water pumping station, equipment and power grids are all damaged. The terrorists blew it up in three different places,” al-Hasan stated.
According to him, the water supply was resumed shortly after the source was freed. However, now the infrastructure is used to fill the Damascus water reserves only. It will be decided whether to supply the water to the residents after water samples are analyzed.
The minister also said that the water supply should be resumed in a couple of days.
