Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad and his wife paid a visit to his hometown of Qurdaha in rural Latakia on Saturday. It was his second public appearance since opposition activists spread rumors that he was suffering from psychological stress.
Assad and his wife reportedly arrived at the Mountain Breeze Resort on Saturday to spend the weekend at this tourist site in northeastern Latakia.
Photos of Assad’s surprise visit to Qurdaha were released by the official Facebook page for the Mountain Breeze Resort on Sunday. It showed the first family posing for pictures with the resort staff.
