Yesterday, in an interview to Belgian media, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad told the journalists about the situation in the country and the progress of peace talks. The text of the interview has been published by SANA.
When asked whether the EU or NATO would play a role in restoring the country, Assad said that they can’t restore Syria while destroying it.
According to the president, the organizations have supported terrorists in Syria since the beginning of the war. Assad supposes that first of all NATO and the EU should outline their position towards Syria’s sovereignty. Only after that their role in a peace process could be recognized by Syrians.
