In an interview given to Yahoo News, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad touched upon various issues of the Syrian crisis and the diplomatic agenda concerning the civil war and tackling terrorism.
One of the main points of the interview was Assad’s attitude towards Washington and new U.S. President Donald Trump. According to the Syrian president, America needs to clearly outline its policy towards Syria and fighting terrorists in the country. Only in this case, a cooperation between all parties of the conflict is possible and mutual understanding can be reached.
Now, the U.S. deploys its air force without any consent by Damascus thus violating international law. However, the Syrian government is ready to welcome troops of any state including America if it truly intends to fight terrorism.
