Syria and Hungary discussed issues of providing medical equipment

Syrian Health Minister Nizar Yazigi during a meeting with Hungarian Ambassador Janos Budai, discussed the issues of providing assistance in rehabilitating health centers and hospitals in Homs and Aleppo and securing medical equipment.
Minister Yazigi said that the priority for the health sector in Syria is currently rehabilitating hospitals and health centers damaged by terrorism and providing medical equipment in light of the unilateral economic sanctions imposed on Syria which hinder the procurement of spare parts for medical equipment in hospitals.
Yazigi pointed out that the health sector in Aleppo and Homs has been affected greatly by terrorist attacks, with 15 general hospitals going out of service in Homs while 3 hospitals and 11 health centers were damaged in Aleppo and require repairs, expressing readiness to cooperate in rehabilitating these establishments with the Hungarian side.
The Ambassador said that the equipment that could be procured are of good quality, can handle various conditions, and maintenance can be provided for them, adding that 100 grants for medical students will be provided.
