Geneva Talks are Planned for Several Months

The current UN special envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura stated that Syrian peace talks in Geneva may last several months with breaks and the current round of talks will only provide a basis for the political settlement of the crisis.
According to the talk’s schedule, de Mistura is going to pay attention to the formation of a new government, preparation of the constitution and holding elections.
In addition, two meetings with representatives of delegations will be held on these issues during the current round of talks. The special working groups on these issues may be established in prospect.
It should be mentioned, that de Mistura does not exclude the possibility of additional topics for discussion, including the fight against terrorism and implementing the ceasefire all around Syria.
