Syrian Heritage Festival kicked off Saturday in Sweida province, south of Syria, to revive traditional crafts that represent Syria’s history and civilization.
The eight-day event was organized by Directorates of Tourism and Culture in the province under the banner “ancestors’ heritage is successors’ identity and civilization’.
The agency quoted Director of tourism in Sweida Ya’aroub al-Arbidas saying that the festival is a message to the whole world that Syria, which is the country of humanitarian civilization, will remain steadfast no matter the adversity it faces.
The first day of the festival included handmade works and traditional crafts exhibition with the participation of 25 craftsmen and craftswomen from the province.
There will be artistic show and workshop for children to train them how to make crafts in the coming days.
