Kazakhstan discussed Syrian crisis with Saudi Arabia

Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov arrived in Riyadh for an official visit, and Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir, both admitted that the armed development of the Syrian crisis would turn into a loss for all parties involved, the press service of the Kazakh foreign ministry said.

Earlier, Kairat Abdrakhmanov reported about the intention of the Republic to attract more observers to the Syrian peace talks in Astana. In addition, Kazakhstan is considering the possibility of participation of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, as well as the representatives of the European Union in the negotiation process.

Apparently, the Saudi government has realized the futility of its policy in Syria. It’s no secret that Saudi Arabia has been openly supported the armed opposition throughout the conflict and has been actively financed illegal gangs in Syria. And now, against the backdrop of the success of the Syrian army and the arbitrariness of the militants, it is obvious that Riyadh is trying to restore his undermined reputation after its erroneous bid.
