Astana Talks aimed at Strengthening Ceasefire in Syria

According to Kazakh press-service, the next round of Syrian talks in Astana, which is scheduled on May 3-4 to begin with closed bilateral meeting of the delegations. The plenary meeting and the concluding press-conference will be held on May 4.
The delegations of the official Damascus, the Syrian armed opposition, Iran, Russia, Turkey and the UN have already arrived in the capital of Kazakhstan. The arrival of the UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura and the U.S. delegation is expected tonight.
Let us remind you, that the expert meeting of military experts from guarantor states finished previously today. The director of United Nations Mine Action service Agnes Marcaillou also took part in this meeting.
The Astana talks plays key role in strengthening ceasefire in Syria. During the meeting the sides have an opportunity to consolidate progress reached at the previous meetings.
Hopefully, the Syrian government and the opposition would find the new compromises which would contribute much to the negotiation process in Geneva and speedy settlement of the Syrian crisis.
