U.N. Deputy Special Envoy for Syria to Hold meeting with Muallem

Today U.N. Deputy Special Envoy for Syria Ramzy Ezzeldine Ramzy will arrive in Damascus in order to hold a meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem. After the meeting the press conference is planned.
The new round of Syrian peace talks in Geneva is scheduled on May 16-19. The delegations of the Syrian government and the Syrian opposition are expected to take part in the talks.
Let us remind you, that following the results of the fourth round of Syrian talks in Astana the representatives of guarantor-states (Iran, Russia and Turkey) signed a memorandum on creation four de-escalation zones in Syria. The results of talks in the capital of Kazakhstan were highly appreciated not only by the allies of Damascus in the fight against terrorism, but also by certain geopolitical opponents including: the United States, Britain and Saudi Arabia.
