Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary, Ali Shamkhani, said that the presence of the U.S. military contingent in Syria was aimed at supporting terrorism and spreading chaos in the country.
Shamkhani stressed that only the Syrian government had the right to decide who can be present in Syria. He added that Damascus considered the U.S. military presence as an aggression against the sovereignty of the country.
In addition, Ali Shamkhani said that all Donald Trump’s accusations of Iranian support for terrorism were “unbelievable” and “unacceptable”.
According to him, the only force fighting terrorism in the region was the union of Iran, Syria, Russia and Iraq.
