Ms. Izumi Nakamitsu, Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, reported to the Security Council that the results of the investigation into the allegation of the use of chemical weapons that took place on 4 April in Khan Shaykhun hadn’t been announced yet.
During the Security Council meeting Ms. Nakamitsu said that the OPCW specialists had reported that the investigation would take much more time than it had been planned.
It should be mentioned that earlier, the Syrian government had called on the OPCW to conduct an impartial investigation. Nowadays, it intends to take all necessary measures to ensure the security of the OPCW’s team in Khan Shaykhun.
Such kind of interest of Damascus in the early announcement of the results of the investigation indicates that the Syrian government has nothing to hide, and all charges were fabricated.
