Government Forces Liberated Ancient Town in Raqqa

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has fully liberated from ISIS the ancient town of Rusafa and a nearby crossroad, which is located 30 kilometers from the besieged Raqqa.
The attack of the government forces in the southern part of the province was initiated on Saturday night. The SAA units attacked the fortifications of terrorists and brought through to the western neighborhoods of the town. As a result dozens of terrorists were killed and a number of military vehicles were destroyed.
Rusafa is an ancient Syrian town, which is located 160 kilometers from Palmyra and has an historical importance. The partly destroyed walls of palaces and temples have remained in the town.
