19-year-old Refugee from Syria Became UN Goodwill Ambassador

19-year-old Syrian activist Muzoon Almellehan became the youngest person in the world and the world’s first Goodwill Ambassador in refugee status who was appointed the United Nations Children’s Fund Goodwill Ambassador.
‘The history of courage and fortitude of the girl inspires us all, and we are very proud that she will now be the ambassador of UNICEF,’ Justin Forsyth, Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund said.
In turn, the girl said she was proud of working in the UN. She wants to help the children affected by the conflict and get them an education opportunity.
Muzoon Almellehan together with her family fled from Syria to Jordan in 2013 there she was living for several years in the Zaatari refugee camp. Someday she decided to advocate for the right to education for girls.
