The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on the world community to protect the people of Raqqa at the time when the International Coalition jets continue to carry out indiscriminate strikes on residential neighborhoods of the city, which lead to numerous victims.
Guterres addressed all the sides of the Syrian conflict to make every efforts to protect the civilians as well as the urban infrastructure.
Let us remind you, the U.S.-led coalition, under the pretext of fighting the ISIS terrorist organizations, targeted on June 8 the residential neighborhoods in Raqqa city with airstrikes using white phosphorous bombs, leaving scores of innocent civilians dead or injured.
Moreover, the Secretary-General expressed concern for the civilians who live in Raqqa as a consequence of ongoing hostilities and worsening the situation in the region.
