Faisal Mekdad: Damascus won’t let its enemies benefit from de-escalation zones

Syria’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Faisal Mekdad, said that Damascus wouldn’t allow its enemies to benefit from the de-escalation zones in western Syria.

According to Mekdad, Syria was “ready for the coming rounds of the Astana and Geneva negotiations next month, based on preserving its sovereignty and unity and sparing the blood of its sons”.

We remind that the four de-escalation zones set out in Astana are located in the provinces of Idlib, Homs, Daraa and the Eastern Ghouta region near Damascus.
