The Kazakh Foreign Ministry’s press service announced the main issues of the upcoming Syria peace talks in Astana.
According to the announcement, during the meetings all participants will work to coordinate the borders and maps of the de-escalation zones in Syria, develop documents regulating the activities of control forces, and work of the coordination center.
We remind that the negotiations in Astana are planned to be held on June 4-5. Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov said that Kazakhstan had received official confirmations of the participation of Iran, Russia and Turkey in the fifth round of the Syria talks. Apart from the guarantor countries, the Jordanian delegation and the UN special representative Staffan de Mistura also confirmed their participation. In addition, U.S. representative Assistant Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs Stuart Jones will also attend the talks as an observer.
