U.S. Acknowledges Its SF Operating in Raqqa

Yesterday, July 12, spokesman for the U.S.-led coalition Col. Ryan Dillon told the reporter at the Pentagon that American troops are actively supporting the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces in Raqqa.

According to Dillon, military advisers and special operation forces, which operate in Syria without any official permission of Damascus, “advise, assist and accompany” the Kurdish fighters and “call in strikes within the city”.

The spokesman also stressed that the U.S. troops “are much more exposed to the enemy contact than those in Iraq”. This may mean that the SF have to engage in clashes from time to time but the Pentagon denies it.
