The Syrian army units backed by allied forces continued joint military operation in the eastern part of Homs province, striking ISIS positions in the city of Al-Sukhnah, which is the last stronghold of terrorists on the way to Deir Ezzor.
The government forces in fierce clashes managed to liberate more than 3 kilometers of territory west of Al-Sukhah and strategic hill tops overlooking the city. So, the Syrian army is now 8 kilometers from the city. Some Syrian military experts call the city a gate to Deir Ezzor.
At the same time, the Syrian aviation carried out intense attacks on ISIS gatherings in the depth of al-Sukhnah and Humeimeh in eastern Homs, destroying military infrastructure, facilities and killing or wounding tens of militants.
