On July 27, Thursday, Syrian U.N. Ambassador Bashar Ja’afari called on the Security Council to prevent a massacre of Shiites in the towns of al-Fu’ah and Kafriya, surrounded by terrorists.
According to Ja’afari, about 7,000 civilians remained trapped in both Syrian towns. He added that residents of al-Fu’ah and Kafriya were starving, many of them needed medical help.
The Syrian permanent representative also strongly criticized the work of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, that “prefers to send convoys with humanitarian assistance only to those areas, which terrorists are located in.”
