According to Inside Syria Media Center sources, the members of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) radical group and their family members have already departed from the town of Arsal in Lebanon. Earlier, a bus convoy for some 9,000 jihadi fighters was reported to have reached the area.
Yesterday, the evacuation brokered between Hezbollah and Tahrir al-Sham was delayed due to Saraya Ahel al-Sham faction whose 3,000 fighters wanted to move to Syria’s Qalamoun region. Some sources report that additional buses have been sent to evacuate the militants.
Hezbollah’s operation against HTS was announced on Friday, July 21. Backed by the Syrian and Lebanese armies, the group successfully gained control over the territories along the Lebanon-Syria border and reached a ceasefire agreement with the jihadist group on July 28. According to it, the group has to abandon the area and move to Idlib.
