The liberation of the largest ISIS stronghold in Homs province on the way to Deir Ezzor is being delayed. After a week of the fierce clashes the Syrian army managed to liberate surroundings villages in the southwestern countryside of the city.
Despite the attempts of the government forces to recapture the city from two directions, ISIS terrorists resist and build new defense lines to hold the city under control as long as possible.
Unfortunately the Syrian army suffered heavy losses and this fact frustrated the Syrian High Command because of the little progress. However the liberation of the city will open the new beachhead for the offensive against terrorists in Deir Ezzor and other territories in eastern part of Syria.
