U.S.-backed Forces to Attack Syria’s Deir ez-Zor Soon

Despite all promises of the U.S. Central Command not to remain in Syria after Raqqa, U.S.-backed forces is sure about further operations in the country.

According to a source from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), U.S.-backed troops intend to begin an offensive operation in Deir ez-Zor.

“The operation to liberate Deir ez-Zor will begin very, very soon,” said Ahmed Abu Khawla, who heads the Deir ez-Zor military council that fights under the SDF banner.

Khawla also said military plans were ready, and that his unit had already “entered Deir ez-Zor territory and liberated several towns”.
