Today the sixth round of Syrian talks started in Kazakh’s capital . The creation of the fourth de-escalation zone in Idlib province and the regulation of the truth in other zones most likely will become the primary focus of the negotiations.
Moreover, it is expected that the sides will approve the joint statement on demining historical monuments in Syria, included in the list of the World Cultural Heritage of UNESCO and discuss the issues of mutual interest.
Earlier today, the representatives of the guarantor states (Iran, Russia and Turkey) hold the meeting of the joint working group in a closed format. The delegations of the Syrian government, armed opposition, the UN Special envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura as well as independent observers from the U.S. and Jordan will take part in the talks.
