Syrian Army Closes ISIS Pocket in Deir Ezzor

On Thursday evening, the Syrian army units backed by Hezbollah initiated new offensive on ISIS positions in the southern part of Deir Ezzor province.
The government forces attacked the fortifications of terrorists between the towns of Albukamal and Al-Mayadeen. Currently, the Syrian troops storm the settlements of Al-Ghabra and Ashayr, located to the northwest of newly liberated Albukamal.
So, after the total liberation of these settlements, the Syrian troops will come close to the elite Tiger Forces, who are pushing from Al-Mayadeen from the southern direction. After the consolidation of the troops, the ISIS pocket in Deir Ezzor will be closed. Thus the radicals will control only 6 thousand square kilometers in Syria.
