According to the Turkish Yeni Şafak, ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is still alive and is in the custody of the U.S. Special Forces at a military base in Al-Hasakah Governorate.

A source, who was previously a militant part of Jund al-Aqsa, told the newspaper that al-Baghdadi was first taken to the U.S. base in Ras al-Ayn and then to the U.S. base in al-Hasakah-Rmeilan.

Besides, the source added that apart from Baghdadi, seven other top ISIS commanders were a part of the group (captured by the U.S.) and that one of them was an Iraqi national and the others were from outside of Syria and Iraq.
