U.S. Military Presence in Syria is Fatal Flaw

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson speaking at a political forum at Stanford University committed the United States to an indefinite military presence in Syria even after the complete defeat of the terrorists in Syria, citing the need to protect civilians in the Arab Republic and to contain Iran’s “aggressive strategic policy.”

Tillerson’s words once again generated a continuing debate among experts. Thus, military analyst Scott Bennett believes that Washington’s decision to maintain a military presence in Syria is a “fatal flaw.” He also added that such a move is contrary to the Constitution of the United States and the will of the American people.

According to him, “Rex Tillerson lives in a fantasy world when he thinks that Americans will tolerate an endless US presence in the Middle East, which ultimately can lead to civil war in America itself.”
