Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United NationsBashar al-Jaafari told the U.N. Security Council on Tuesday that Syria will retake all occupied territories. “Syria Intends to Return Golan Heights, Afrin, Raqqa, Idlib,” Jaafari added. The Syrian Diplomat also stated that the Syrian army is on the eve of victory over militants in the Eastern Ghouta.
he also said that Eastern Ghouta did not fall as the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations said, but it was liberated as Aleppo, and what has fallen is terrorism.
Jaafari continued to target the western nations in the U.N’s Security Council, pointing out that many of their claims had lacked professionalism and objectivity.
Dr. Ja’afari then confronted the U.N.’s Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs, Mark Lowcock, for failing to mention that militants were behind the attacks on the Kashkoul area that killed over 40 civilians last week.
The Syrian ambassador continued to question Lowcock, asking him why he failed to mention that Turkey was behind the mass exodus of civilians from Afrin to Tal Rifa’at.
Syria has repeatedly called on Turkey to immediately withdraw from the Afrin region; however, Ankara maintains that they are fighting ‘terrorists’ in the region.
