ISIS senior leader and the governor of the eastern Euphrates region detained by the Iraqi authorities, Saddam al-Jamal, made a series of confessionary statements the organization’s funding sources and why ISIS failed to maintain their areas. He stressed ISIS was receiving external funding from several countries, “not named” in addition to selling oil and tax collection from the owners of funds and farmers. The sale of antiquities was also among the income items. Al-Jamal added ISIS have lost the will to fight. The Iraqi security forces announced capturing a number of ISIS’ senior leaders a week ago.
