According to Lebanese General Security Chief, Major General ‘Abbas Ibrahim, today more than 400 Syrian refugees left east Lebanon, to return to their homes in Syria.
He also added, that a number of Syrian vehicles transported 400 people from the Wadi Hamayed area in the ‘Arsal District to the eastern Qalamoun.
A refugee managing the return of the refugees has registered the names of those willing to go home and delivered them to Lebanon’s General Security forces which in return completed the preparations, the AFP reported.
This is the first batch of refugees to return to Syria under the supervision of Damascus and the Lebanese government.
An estimated 61,000 Syrian refugees are still living in camps around the ‘Arsal District of east Lebanon.
